This tutorial gives you an example of how you can use ready made Illustrator packs, and a little of your creativity to create cool designs like the one on the photo. Even though the author uses some commercial packages, I am convinced that there are lots of free ones with the same, or even better quality. Here, the message is more important: it is not necessary to discover the wheel every single time. Sometimes you can just use what's available, and still produce something original after all.
